Summer Meeting 2011 - Group photo at Mazak Machine Tools

The 2011 Summer Meeting was held by kind invitation of the President, in the Worcester area on the 7th and 8th of July 2011. The meeting inculded visits to Allen Gears, Mazak Machine Tools, Morgan Cars, QinetiQ and Westons Cider Press. We are grateful to the outgoing President, Vicky Bradley for organising a very interested and varied meeting.


Summer Meeting 2010

Summer Meeting 2010 - Pimlico District Heating Undertaking
The 2010 Summer Meeting was held by kind invitation of the President, in London on the 8th and 9th of July 2010. The meeting included a variety of lectures, a tour of PDHU (Pimlico Distrct Heating Undertaking) and a tour of the Palestra building. We are grateful to the outgoing President, Dr Howard Stone for organising a very enjoyable meeting.


Professor Sir Hugh Ford

It is with deep regret that the Society has learned of the death of Professor Sir Hugh Ford on the evening of Friday 28th May. The IMechE website contains an obituary for Sir Hugh. Registered members can log into the site for more details about Sir Hugh's lasting contribution to the awards scheme, the society and the details of his Presidential year in 1974.


Summer Meeting 2008

Summer Meeting 2008 - Group Photo at M-Sport The Summer Meeting was held on the 10th and 11th of July and was hosted by the President Steve Davison in West Cumbria. There was a interesting variety of visits to Corus, Wordsworth House, Jennings Brewery and M-Sport. An excellent dinner was taken in the Haunted Vault of the Rum Story at Whitehaven. The summer meeting was very enjoyable and we are grateful to the outgoing President for organising an extremely successful few days.
